Meego Devices Now Available At Nokia Store With Two Great New Features Added

A quick note before we continue – unlike the previous versions where you could just install updates over the version installed on your Symbian device, this one requires that you remove your existing version first before you download and install v0.96 Beta. So that behind us, lets take a brief look at what the two new features are in this update are.

Firstly the ability to add a new venue to Foursquare via 4squick – Just as in the official Foursquare app, when you search for a venue and it doesnt appear, you can now scroll to the bottom of the list where you will find an option to add the new venue, add the details, tap and move the purple location icon to the correct place on the map – characterise – submit and voila – you’re done – you have just added a new venue.



The second feature is my personal favourite – calling directly from within the app by clicking on the venues contact details with out having to exit 4squick and an added bonus if the contact details include a Twitter account – you can access that account (clicking on the Twitter details – will open you default browser) to tweet or follow them directly as well.



Now if you haven’t tried this app yet, you should as it surpasses the official Foursquare version for Symbian by miles and the amazing thing, apart form being a user friendly UI, the 4squick app is super duper fast, it even warns you that you are about to exit the app if you have backspaced too quickly Great work 4squick and looking forward to seeing what great new features you have installed for us in the next version – NFC capabilities maybe??

TIP: If you are having problems installing the latest version after removing v0.95 (make sure you uninstalled both ’4squick’ and ’4squick installer’), Install 0.95 again, leave it, install 0.96, wait for the fail, uninstall 0.95 then proceed by clicking the smart installer icon from appgrid to install 0.96.
