How To Installing Modem With Wifi Access Point

Using WiFi Access Point (WAP) is actually tricky. If you use a different modem and WAP brands such as TP Link modem and WAP SMC or Asus brand, you should pay attention to the configuration of TCP / IP or LAN IP address of the modem with the same WAP or not. Usually most of the access point may obtain an IP address automatically from a DHCP server if the IP address your modem between the modem and WAP congenital different. For example, the SMC modem is usually the IP address default is 192.168.2.1 while the WAP TP Link adalah192, 168.1.1. Both will find no problem as WAP will obtain a DHCP automatically. You simply combine the two by following the steps of the user default WAP TP Link and you can directly connect to the Internet.

If the IP Address as the default modem and WAP, for example IP Address TP Link modem and WAP Asus same ie 192.168.1.1 usually you get a wifi connection but can not access the internet. You have to change one IP address. Advice from me, do not change the modem IP address. Although it can but sometimes the IP address the modem back to the initial settings (default) when we turn off the modem. Better you change the IP Address of WAP.

How to change are as follows:
  • Turn on the first WAP, WAP do not connect with the modem.
  • Connect the WAP to the computer / laptop with a wired LAN WAP innate.
  • Go to Admin Access (Control Panel) WAP via your browser by typing the IP address in the address bar. See picture.
  • Enter the login name with password. To find out read the instructions included.
  • Now, select the LAN. Then replace the LAN IP Address. If the default IP is 192.168.1.1 then replace it with 192.168.2.1. See picture.
  • Then click Save Settings to save the new settings.
  • Connect the WAP to the LAN cable modem using the default.
  • Done.
Hopefully you will not find a problem anymore because if you follow all the instructions correctly, then you can have an internet connection via wifi.
Good luck.
