Vintage Bowling Shoes - Where to Find These Fun Blasts From the Past
Posted on Thursday, July 19, 2012 by Arman Zulhajar
Aren't vintage bowling shoes great? But where are these gems hiding? I can tell you from personal experience that the three main places you'll find them are at (1) thrift Stores (2) antique stores and (3) eBay.
Thrift stores are full of all kind of vintage gems. Vintage bowling shoes have been found to end up here many times over. One tip is to go to thrift stores that might be in an elderly community. Items donated by senior citizens usually go to thrift stores in their area. And most of the time vintage bowling shoes will be donated by seniors who've held onto them from high school days.
Antique stores are a step up from thrift stores. They are usually set up in sections where sellers (or vendors as they are known) rent a space and sell their items. It's almost always vintage items you'll find here. Think of it as eBay as a physical store. Vendors organize their goods in their space which make up numerous spaces in one big store. They are sometimes call antique malls.
And of course we can't forget eBay. eBay is known as THE marketplace for nostalgic items. People know that if they own something like vintage bowling shoes and they want to sell them, eBay is the place to go. That is good news for you and me. No need to go hunting for these treasures. They are online waiting for us to make them ours.
It might seem strange to some to buy used shoes. Not everyone necessarily is interested in actually wearing the shoes however. Some use them as decor. They may own a vintage store or decorate their home in the vintage theme and vintage bowling shoes would fit right in. There are many though that don't mind used shoes. They can easily be cleaned and resoled as well.
Whatever your need for them just know they can indeed be found with just a little bit of hunting. But hey, that's all part of the fun!
