Finding the Right Round Vintage Tub and Bath For Your Home
Posted on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 by Arman Zulhajar
If you are looking for the perfect way to add a little flair to your current bathroom's design, one choice that is becoming increasingly popular is the round vintage tub and bath. No matter what preferences in style or design you have, you will be able to find the perfect model for you. You also have the choice between purchasing an authentic antique model, or a contemporary replica that will provide you with the same classic style only with modern improvements. Today you have more options than ever before when it comes to finding the perfect circular vintage tub for you.
Probably the most recognized of the many styles of round vintage tub and bath is the clawfoot type. It is typically designed with the faucet on one end with the opposite end being more rounded so the person can lie back comfortably. Another style is the slipper style which is almost identical only it features a backrest that is slightly higher so that it can double as a headrest. Next there is the double ended clawfoot type which has two rounded ends with the faucet positioned towards the center of the unit.
One thing that all three of these models have in common is that the holes for the faucet are drilled in the sides of the tub which feature a rolled over design. In some models however, there may not be any holes drilled for the faucets whatsoever. When it comes to faucets that are typically found in the circular vintage tub, you have many to choose from. There are even styles for when the faucet is simply built into the wall over top of where the tub has been positioned. This is truly a unique and elegant style that you may want to consider.
There are many different faucet styles to choose from for your round vintage tub and bath. For example, the standard tub wall faucet will work with any model that has the proper holes drilled into the side. There is also a deck mounted option that looks like it is sitting on the side of the tub and the wall mounted version which is designed so water comes out of the wall. The latter is the perfect option for freestanding types. There are four primary types of finishes you have to choose from, chrome, gold, bronze, and nickel.
One final option you have when you are in the market for a round vintage tub and bath is the shower kit. If you are someone who loves to take showers as well as baths, then this is a good choice for you. Additionally, these tubs come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and materials, so it can take a bit of effort in order to make sure you have purchased the right one.
