Tomboys?
Random thoughts, concerning genders, tomboys and style...
Tomboys. When You read the exact definition , it doesn't sound so flattering if you are a woman, shaped by the patriarchal society and especially, if you're living in Lithuania. I still don't know, what's my reaction.
One guy told me: a real woman doesn't wear short hair! I think I don't care about trivialities like this anymore, but some stuff still remain a puzzle ...
My friend has a picture with a quote by Levi Strauss (I think): "Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society".
I still try to figure out if I agree.
Then there is this image of yourself in your head:you see yourself trotting down the street, ready to kick ass ( basically- a tomboy). But in reality... well it just doesn't show. Or even if it does sometimes, it looks more like a skinny thing twisting around it's axis.
Skirt or pants? Heels or no heels? Talk or remain silent?
You would probably say-be yourself! Who knows who they really are????
Recently I found a very cool blog, a collection of tomboy style. So I think I stay on this side for a while.
